François Halard’s editorial imagery and book publications have established him as the most prolific and well known interior and architectural photographer of our time. His editorial commissions include American Vogue, W, Vanity Fair, WSJ, T Magazine, GQ and House & Garden.
François’ sophisticated style and refined technique has attracted advertising clients such as Armani, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint Laurent, Hugo Boss and Ann Taylor.
Personally, François is fascinated by the artist and their creative dwelling, and has brought this to fruition in his photographs of the studios of Jean-Charles Blais, Cy Twombly, Robert Rauschenberg, Julian Schnabel, and the heritage of Beuys (cf. Video). He has had solo exhibitions in Aries (February-March 2001), Paris (2002), and New York at the Remy Toledo Gallery (June 2004), and more recently at the Demisch Danant Gallery (February 2014).
François Halard is the author of several books including Saint-Louis (Actes Sud, 2015), This Is The House That Jack Built (Steidl, 2015), François Halard (Rizzoli, 2013), La Maison de Verre (Actes Sud, 2007), Lieux de la Reine (Thames & Hudson, 2005) and Villa Malaparte (Actes Sud, 2003). He also collaborated on the book Vogue Living: House, Gardens, People (2007) as well as the catalogue Blooming, a scattering of blossoms and other things by Cy Twombly for Lambert collection (Gallimard, 2007).
