There are nine of them - nine dancers from different African countries: Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso…
In Saint-Louis, caught between the bite of the Senegalese sun and the rainy season, they begin to get to know one another, to work together, and to imagine a contemporary dance piece that reflects who they are.
From this ever-shifting material, renowned choreographer @amaladianor.cie, both watchful and demanding, patiently shapes the contours of a work titled Siguifin, which in the Bambara language means “magic monster.”
Through this piece, he celebrates the vitality of dance in all its forms, mirroring the artistic ferment that energizes the African continent.
Capturing the essence and genesis of this work in progress, filmmaker and photographer @gregoirekorganow_librechamp films like no other the body in motion, the act of creation, the encounter with others, and our relationship to the world.
A fascinating assemblage of sensibilities and flashes of brilliance - culminating in the promise of a collective, borderless momentum.
