The Agents Club

So happy to find a few of these in tact after the water damage in my storage space. My Polaroids held up far better than the film. Hail to the polaroid!
This was my very first foray into this industry of ours! Beyond fortunate I soon became aware. I had just graduated from Ransom Everglades High school in the Grove when @bruce_weber sister Barbara Dewitt who was quite a FORCE (and taught me so much about street casting) asked me to help her find locations for these Calvin Klein shoots in Miami. She and Bruce then asked me to stay on and help with production- whatever that meant! I think Bruce thought it would be fun for me and fun for the models who were all my age. He was right! I remember him sending me to the airport to pick up one of the Obsession models. I was at the gate and everyone had deboarded and I was like- I can not believe I messed up my first assignment! Then this beautiful girl who was my height (about 5’5) and voluptuous came over to me, took off her walkman and asked if I were waiting for her, her name was Lisa Marie and she was here for the Calvin shoot. She was super lovely and not what I thought a model to be. What did I know? I wanted to be a photojournalist.
I look back at these pictures and it doesn’t look like I was working very hard! But I was! (I did notice I am often in a bathing suit which means little has changed and if there is a down moment, I find water)
It was a slower time then with no cell phones and shoots that lasted weeks. It was Miami in the late 80’s. We took over the Cavalier and Cordoza hotels. We were very present. All the models seemed super down to earth and kind. It was fun.
Grateful for the images that remain in tact. Memories that would otherwise fade away. I may be boring you with a few more.
