Last weekend I saw Sean Ono Lennon’s first film, about Three As Four, and kept thinking how familiar they seemed. After the film, I went looking through my archive and found them — not once, but four different times. Adi, Ange and Kai Kühne, the original members of As Four. My assistants and I were constantly out street casting in New York then, and somehow we kept finding them. I loved Sean’s film — about friendship, collaboration, and what it means to be an artist in New York. To have success, to struggle, and to keep making art anyway. @threeasfour are showing again this September. I can’t wait to see what they do. | Jennifer Starr Casting
