JUERGEN TELLER [CLM]

SELF-PORTRAIT, 2016

Considered one of the most important photographers of his generation, Juergen Teller has successfully navigated both the art world and commercial photography since beginning his career in the late 1980s, shooting high profile fashion campaigns.
Juergen Teller’s photography stands apart in the fashion world. The imagery he produces is always immediately recognisable due to its innate starkness.

It is difficult to predict Teller’s work, since he always creates something unexpected.
He treats all of his subjects — family members, celebrities, and himself with a uniform style of grit, raw emotion and humour that has become his iconic and recognizable aesthetic. The subjects come together in astonishing poses and various intensities of emotions are reflected in each of his pictures.

He refuses to tailor his aesthetic to that of his commercial clients, a rare privilege!
His works sells an attitude, not a dream.
