We’re thrilled to share that director and photographer Jameela Elfaki (@jameelaelfaki) debuted her latest body of work 'MUSIC ROOM' on July 3rd in London. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This project is a photographic exploration documenting three incredible women of colour who are reshaping the classical and jazz musical landscapes. It is inspired by her mother’s love of classical music, where she often struggled to see women like herself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ‘MUSIC ROOM’ invites viewers to see themselves reflected in these spaces and to reconsider who belongs within them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Featured artists Amy Gadiaga, Miriam Adefris, and BODUR blur the boundaries between classical and contemporary, tradition and self expression—composing new definitions of presence and power. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #jameelaelfaki #musicroom #director #photographer #lairdandgoodcompany
