After graduating in Sydney with a Diploma in Photography, Kell Mitchell moved to London to assist some of the world's most renowned fashion photographers.
Fascinated with all the new cultures and experiences she met during her work travels, she started to document life happening all around her.
Kell's beautifully simple and stylistic approach to storytelling celebrates the unique inner lives of all her characters and the alluring sense of beauty or mystery a photo can have that has something unexpected or slightly unexplained.
"I think I always strive to capture something at it’s ‘midway point’ - the scene is part of something that we question: what has led to this happening and what is going to happen next?"

Kell’s editorial clients include British Vogue, The Guardian, Hunger, Wonderland, Flaunt, Gaytimes, & Shortlist, and her commercial clients include Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Google, Emirates, Samsung, Nokia & HP.
Kell also works in oil painting and pastels. We can see these influences in her photographic imagery, her subjects often look like they have been painted with light.
Storytelling was always in her blood, and in recent years this has evolved successfully into moving image. In 2017 she was nominated for a British Arrows award for her film for Harvey Nichols - The 100 Year Old Woman, which documents the truly inspiring Bo Gilbert modeling for the pages of Vogue.
