Born in Paris, Laurent moved to Guadeloupe with his family at the age of seven, and it is this unique cultural heritage that influences much of his personal work today.

Music—central to Caribbean culture—has played a defining role in shaping his creative sensibility. Deeply connected to the industry, Laurent has long collaborated with artists to develop visuals and videos for album releases and tours, working with artists including NCT 127, Oxmo Puccino, Implaccable, Ricky Bishop and Mikano.

It is through a series exploring distortion, identity, and cyberspace that Laurent gained recognition—work that quickly led to commissions and collaborations across the music industry, as well as with leading fashion and luxury brands including Givenchy, Nike, Hermès, Krug, Chanel, Dr. Martens, Adidas, Rick Owens, Vans, and Levi’s.

His fine art photography and video installations have been exhibited at Huddersfield University (UK), the Digital Art Museum (Mexico), and galleries across Europe and Asia. And from 2011 to 2021, Laurent lived and worked across Asia, exhibiting with Sundaram Tagore Gallery in Hong Kong, YING Space in Beijing, and Art Basel Hong Kong.

Laurent is currently working on a new body of work that revisits the land and seascapes of his Caribbean childhood. This series - entitled Counter Current -explores the edge of a tropical island, focussing on the shoreline as a threshold between interior and exterior. It will debut at Melbourne Design Week on 14th May 2026, in a site-specific installation presented by Whale.
