Sophie Delaporte is a french visual artist who currently lives and works between Paris and New York.
As a teenager, Sophie was inspired to become a photographer in order to represent women from a female perspective.

Her work is characterised by a singular approach to colour, light and movement.
Sophie started shooting in the early 2000s, publishing her first pictures in British magazines such as i-D.
"I like to leave some space for imagination, images with different interpretation levels, explore the border between real and fantasy."

The poetic aspect of her work, her taste for surrealism came to the attention of Vicki Goldberg, who wrote of her: “Sophie Delaporte is a French photographer who is on permanently good terms with fantasy and a cheerfully offbeat approach. She has a distinctive sense of colour, a fabulist’s imagination, an edge of surrealism, and a knack for ambiguous narrative”.

For several years, Sophie has been very interested in digital media and the development of her photographic work into animated images.
She has directed numerous films including some music videos and a recent perfume campaign for Repetto.

The work of Sophie Delaporte has been the subject of several solo exhibitions throughout the world, including New York, Tokyo and London and at many international fairs. 
Recently: Grand Prix Photography and Sustainability, Hotel de Ville de Paris (12/19) and Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary Art Fair, Miami (01/20).
