Turkina Faso is a Russian born and London based visual artist working in photography and film.
Turkina (Kati) spent her teenage years in Essentuki, an industrial city in the North Caucasus.
She graduated from the Institute of Contemporary Art in Moscow and the Institute of Journalism and Literature. She also got a MA Fashion Photography degree at London College of Fashion, where she is now an associate lecturer.
Her main art and research work is about relations between nature, humanity, reality and its perception.

She has been working for a decade on her project “SISTER ALICE”. Through the spells of her sister who passes slowly from childhood to adolescence, Turkina Faso finds the poetry of her own chimeras of yesterday.
The project ‘ME&THEM:ALICE’ was published and reviewed by the British Journal of Photography, Vogue Italia, i-D magazine etc.
Turkina has collaborated with Vogue Italia, Vogue UK, Vogue China, L'Officiel Italia, iD, The Greatest Magazine, Wonderland, Numero Russia, British Journal of Photography, Dazed Digital, Odiseao, Mulberry, Bvlgari, Roger Vivier, Lacoste and Sony among others.

Turkina's latest visual essay / book and moving image “Later tonight” is a collection of moments when you are floating in between time and space, real and subconscious, familiar and strange.
Turkina Faso was the recepient of a JURY AWARD "FASHION NEXT GEN" category at THE AGENTS CLUB AWARDS '20.
