Through the line of tension felt amongst viewers dialing into the World Cup, there bleeds an overwhelming sense of joy. Whether on opposing ends of the field, connection is threaded through a celebration of culture, of people, of community. Brazilian artist, designer, and illustrator Rafaela Mascaro (@rafaelamascaro) looks to capture a fragment of the colorful blend of emotions and energy that rises when we all gather. “This series was inspired by my lifelong passion for soccer and the memories of watching matches with my father while growing up in São Paulo, Brazil. Our shared love for the Sport Club Corinthians Paulista team became a way of connecting, and these works celebrate the joy, community, and emotions that make soccer such a universal language.” | Milk Studios
