Berlin-based photographer and visual artist, Menno Aden’s series ‘Private Rooms’, through a rigorous systematic approach, has sought to reveal the hidden patterns in everyday environments. Forced to hold an almost invasive perspective from above, viewers are confronted to reconsider familiars spaces from an unexpected angle. “Viewed from above, private spaces become strangely ambiguous. The camera adopts the detached position of surveillance, transforming lived reality into a diagram, while the rooms themselves retain the charm and vulnerability of miniature worlds.
