Scenes from @citybikeboys’ gloriously chaotic 4th annual Citi Bike Day, captured from above, below, and every angle in between. This past Saturday, hundreds of New Yorkers took to the city’s iconic blue commuter bikes to race across the Williamsburg Bridge, clear some makeshift ramps, and hopefully claim the $1,500 prize. Part spectacle and part communal adrenaline rush, this event brought out a sense of camaraderie that can only come from watching a stranger risk a very public wipeout simply for the thrill of it. Spearheaded by skater, designer, and musician @j3rom3, the day encapsulated the kind of wonderfully unruly, people-powered mayhem that makes the city feel so alive.
