For years, Svetlana Feoktistova has been both photographer and author of the project “Walls Walls” (@wallswalls), a page where she documents her collection of walls, taken on unplanned routes, at times returning to the same locations over months and years to cartograph the change. “My photography practice began in 2015, when I began to notice color compositions on the walls that resemble abstract paintings. Since then, I’ve been deeply interested in this topic, and I’ve started documenting buffs along with other elements of the urban landscape. In recent years, my attention has been attracted by buildings covered with construction mesh during restoration. They evoke associations with the works of Christo and are perceived as full-fledged urban installations that arose unintentionally. The grids are swaying in the wind, gaining momentum, and tags and fresh buffs are gradually layered on them.” | Milk Studios
