Maison Margiela Artisanal 2025 Collection On July 9, Maison Margiela unveiled its latest haute couture collection in Paris, the first by Glenn Martens for the house. A celebration of salvaging and instinctive creativity, the collection explored a tension between raw materiality and refined technique. Brutalist textures met razor-sharp tailoring; delicacy emerged through chaos. Paper collage techniques evoked 17th-century Dutch still-life florals, biker jackets were reimagined as upcycled patchworks, and jewelry was crafted from leftover stock. Corseted dresses in sheer voile, belts reduced to mere threads, floral motifs mirrored in sculptural 3D appliqués, each look embodied a kind of poetic resistance. The starkness and anonymity of the silhouettes, often faceless and severe, were softened by moments of beauty: intricate gold embroidery, shimmering moiré satin, and exquisite artisanal craftsmanship once again taking center stage.
