Winter Vandenbrink for Balmain Pre-Fall 2025
To showcase its Pre-Fall 2025 collection, the prestigious French fashion house Balmain turned to Dutch photographer Winter Vandenbrink. Raised as an only child in the Netherlands, Vandenbrink’s teenage years, often spent loitering around shopping malls, evolved into a career capturing the raw, restless energy of urban youth. Now based in Paris, his work explores inner-city tensions, set against moody grey backdrops and grounded in the visual language of subcultures: backpacks, tattoos, and tracksuits.
These gritty symbols of masculinity are ever-present in his imagery, yet they’re offset by an underlying sense of vulnerability and the quiet tenderness of youth.
Vandenbrink has collaborated with several major fashion houses, including Louis Vuitton and Bottega Veneta, always bringing his distinctive, instantly recognizable style, one that feels as though it’s been captured in the moment.
