NINE FRAMES, a LEMAIRE homage to cinema
With Nine Frames, Lemaire transforms the Autumn/Winter 2025 collection into a cinematic study of time, movement, and material. Nine short vignettes, each named after a face or place, capture the interplay between body and garment, where every gesture and shadow carries meaning.
Shot on 35mm film by Lucca Lutzky with creative direction by Sarah-Linh Tran and Christophe Lemaire, the series emphasizes texture, light, and sound: fabric responds to movement, grain defines contours, and footsteps fill the frame. The cast, including Doona Bae, Julie Anne Stanzak, Jussi Vatanen, and others, moves naturally, letting clothing shape rhythm and experience rather than act as decoration.
Extending into window installations and a printed book, Nine Frames translates Lemaire’s visual language across media, inviting viewers to slow down and engage with fashion as one would with a face or gesture. It is an exercise in attention and perception: fashion here is lived, observed, and deeply human.
