PERSONAL WORK

Her work often involves a mixture of portraiture and still life.  In the enigmatic visual work of Allyssa Heuze, quiet moments and everyday objects transcend their banality to become something extraordinary.

Drawn towards the idea of narration and metaphor,   with an almost childlike wonder towards the things that others often miss, her aesthetic approach is wilfully innocent.

From illusory glimpses of gestures or smiles, to symbolically charged objects eclipsing in and out of view, her pictures are playful experiments, oscillating between the instinctual and the staged.

WALLPAPER

In 2018 she was selected as one of the finalists to exhibit at the Hyères International Festival in France. She was nominated for her personal project Oï, a photographic meditation on the vicissitudes of sex and representation. “Everything can be a little sexy if you look at it the right way”.
