Motion . Still life
Born 1979 in Berlin, Antje Peters still lives and works in the German capital. Since her photography degree at the Kunstakademie in Utrecht, she has been working as an independent photographer and artist.
‘My work as an artist takes the existing stereotype of the medium of photography as its focus. Photography of the product becomes the subject within my work itself. Well known visual strategies of the advertising world are analyzed and broken down with an artistic approach. Art as well as commercial photography change and influence each other.'
Next to the release of her work in various publications, such as Illusion (Lodret Vandret, DK) and The Curator as Barman (Automatic Books) her work has been exhibited at the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, the Goethe-Institut and TENT in Rotterdam, Knoll Galerie Wien in the framework curated by_vienna and Amsterdams Centrum voor Fotografie.
