Focus on Cuba / Varda In December 1962 and January 1963, @agnesvarda.officiel arrived in Cuba, at the height of revolutionary fervor, four years after Fidel Castro and his companions had overthrown Batista’s regime. With her camera, she captured the pulse of the streets: intellectuals, artists, street dancers… everything that caught her wandering, curious eye. From this wealth of still images, she wove a film, managing to make the photographs dance, to breathe with the energy, rhythm, and life of Cuba itself. Photographs on view at @imoreirasalles @ims.paulista at Sao Paulo until April 12, 2026. Free admission.
