I started listening to Keith McNally’s memoir today in the car.
So far, I love it. He’s remarkably honest and vulnerable, and I’m seeing him in a very new way. 
When he described meeting his second wife, Alina, while she was a hostess at Balthazar...
and how he was immediately captivated by her gaze, I saw this picture in my head. 
I street cast an Alina nearly 30 years ago and could see exactly what she was wearing, where I photographed her and even how I’d written her name on the Polaroid. 

As soon as I got home, I looked her up.
It was her.
It’s amazing, I can’t remember most things but I almost never forget a face I’ve taken a Polaroid of and often the conversation that we had when we met.
