Artist Spotlight: “Catch A Moment” by @hersleyvencasero
This weeks Artist Spotlight features Hersley-Ven Casero, multidisciplinary visual artist and photographer based in Dumaguete City, Philippines. His long-term series, “Catch A Moment” moves through everyday streets and fleeting glances, finding honesty in the uncanny moments that make us deeply human.
“These photographs are not about perfection. They are about presence. I’m chasing a feeling: the rush of kids mid-air above the sea, the hush of light falling through a window, a dog silhouetted against a golden sky, kids playing atop sacks of crimson onions, glowing like jewels, a woman’s face caught twice in one moment, real and reflected. Every frame is a quiet witnessing, a heartbeat stilled in time.
Drawn to the poetry of the everyday, I look for the magic in the mundane: in the warmth of sunlit walls, in shadows cast by strangers, in the choreography of street life unfolding without warning. This is where stories live, where life pulses loudest in its smallest, most honest gestures.
Catch A Moment is my way of honoring what most might walk past. It is not about capturing the perfect shot. It is about capturing the true one, the kind that stirs something in you, the kind you feel before you fully see.”
