For this ready-to-wear line, Lantink follows his instinctive understanding of what Jean Paul Gaultier represents today: playful, energetic, contemporary, urgent, and vibrant. Each piece undergoes a process of “Duranification,” where it is created, shaped, twisted, and experimented with, sometimes emerging as a finished work, sometimes disappearing entirely, as if by magic. The outcome is both a revival of Jean Paul Gaultier’s ready-to-wear legacy and a natural extension of Lantink’s own series of five acclaimed Paris shows, known for radical volumes and disruptive silhouettes.
