Maison Margiela Co-Ed SS26, Paris Fashion Week At the recent Paris Fashion Week, Glenn Martens revealed his first ready-to-wear collection for Maison Margiela, following his debut at the Haute Couture show last July. The collection immediately made an impression, notably with the four metal bars that stretched the models’ mouths, reminiscent of dental retractors, yet shaped in the brand’s iconic Four Stitches motif. Tailoring was reinvented this season with innovative shoulder constructions, ultra-low-rise trousers, and jackets with tie closures. The runway also showcased striking textures: 16th-century floral wallpaper prints recreated on knitwear, tops made from fused and recycled vintage jewelry, silk jackets and coats fully coated in plastic for a waterproof effect, knitted plastic fabrics, and corsets and shoulder details on certain dresses.
