Artist Spotlight: In Andy Garcia’s (@faffymonay) world, also known by her stage name Faffy Monay, it seems as though anything could be morphed into a wig. A childhood love for hair eventually led her to explore sculpting with the material. At first a useful skill to enhance her own drag looks, Faffy now molds hair for fellow queens, singers, and celebrities, all while championing her Mexican heritage. Her most constant muse is her 77 year old mother, whose inner diva emerges upon wearing one of Faffy’s wigs. Scroll through her feed and you’ll see the sculptural practice explored through both abstract and hyperrealistic forms, from an Atlantis inspired reef sculpture to a larger than life set of manicured hands. | Milk Studios
