He currently lives and works in New York where he established his studio in 1999.

Robin’s work can be interpreted as an intricate study of objects with an emphasis on exquisite lighting techniques and vivid graphic composition.
His illustrative imagery focuses on texture, shape, form and abstraction, resulting in photographs of seemingly larger than life objects.

Initially planning to study medicine, Broadbent approaches his work with the nuance of a poet and an unmatched surgical precision. 
He embraces a monochromatic, minimalistic approach, challenging our perceptions in a way that recalls the early days of Surrealism, and experiments with the playfulness of his work.
